Henri Kalama Akulez

Henri Kalama Akulez (°1973 in Lubumbashi) is a Kino-Congolese painter, defender of the thesis of universalism in art. Kalama studied art at the Institute of Fine Arts in Lubumbashi and completed his graduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa in 1999. In 2001, he completed a degree in China with a scholarship of the Chinese Academy of Art. In 2003 he returned teaching in Kinshasa and completing a Master’s degree in 2007. Today he teaches in the painting department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa and participates in exhibitions, such as Yambi in Brussels, or others in Germany, Poland, Austria and China.
